We now offer a version of our "Haunted Charleston Show" show that is designed for 4th grade and up school age students.
Students will have an entertaining and educational look into Charleston's past from the viewpoint of significant historical figures that appear as ghosts. With all of the production quality of the main show, this show will entertain and enlighten students without the dark element and scares of the main show. Your students will be fascinated as they hear Blackbeard the Pirate tell of his blockade of the Charleston harbor, Issac Hayne recount his days as a Colonel in the American Militia during the Revolutionary War, a Gullah lady from the early 1800's tell of the rice fields and the origin of the sweetgrass basket, a civil war soldier relives the attack on Ft. Sumter and his roll in the Battle of Secessionville and a young boy who was one of the original settlers at Charles Town Landing gives insight to his life as it was in 1670.
This show is approximately 30 minutes long and the theater can sit 40 students per show. Shows can be run back to back for larger groups.
We also offer a package with a walking tour that provides a licensed tour guide who will take your students around the historic district to significant locations and educate them with entertaining stories of Charleston's history. The tour lasts approximately 1 hour and multiple tour guides can be arranged for large groups. Tours can be scheduled either before the Ghosts of Charleston Show or immediately following the show.
Your students are sure to talk about and remember this experience for a while and hopefully spark a deeper interest in history.
Student prices are: Show Only - $5 per student Show and Tour package - $12 per student. Teachers and Chaperons are free.
We are glad to schedule a viewing of the show in advance for teachers at no charge.
